Williamsburg Now Equipped With New Air Purification Technology!
Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus is proud to announce the installation of the Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization (NPBI™) system — a revolutionary air purification system.
“It essentially stops the spread of harmful airborne diseases before they can spread,” says Williamsburg Village Executive Director Gibson Vernon. “It adds another layer of protection to our existing COVID-19 safety protocols.”

The NPBI system injects billions of invisible, charged ions into the facility’s air stream. These ions attach themselves to harmful pathogens and particles, including COVID-19 and influenza, to inactivate them before they can harm others. It also improves the efficacy of our existing HVAC filters and PPE measures, including masks.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the importance of stopping harmful diseases before they can spread, including in the air.” — OBI Umekwe, RN, Director of Nursing
Also, in contrast to older forms of bipolar ionization, usually referred to as corona discharge systems, Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization does not to produce ozone.
In addition to Williamsburg Village, the NPBI technology has been installed in many world-renowned institutions, including Johns Hopkins Medicine, Duke Health, and The White House.
